Saturday was the big day. And big shock, it rained.
Hint: If planning a wedding on the pacific side of Costa Rica, perhaps avoid October?
But we made the best of the day and had a fabulous time. And we accomplished what we set off to do – we got Lisa and Scott married. On a beach. In Costa Rica.
The rain kindly held off for 10-15 minutes. Just enough for Keith to get through the vows and a short message on love.
We took a couple of photos between rain showers.
Then it was on to the party.
And the Daddy/Daughter dance:
The guest book was a brilliant idea. Everyone took a photo with a poloraid camera (did you know they still made those?) and wrote a message in the book next to their photo.
A local resident provided hand-rolled cigars.
Note: Man in the picture is the enjoyer not the provider
And we kept the wedding going until the wee hours of the morning. The guests went to bed and Lisa and Scott departed for a walk on the beach.
After the late night, it was pure torture to board the bus to the airport at 6:30 AM. But thankfully, the return trip only took 4 hours and we were able to sleep for most of it.
It was a quick trip but well worth it. I can’t wait until we can return to Costa Rica and explore the volcano.
