The Captain’s surprise

Last night, the captain hosted a farewell party and had a surprise.  We were making an extra stop at Cape Horn, Chili.

Very rarely did ships visit Cape horn because of variables such as weather, getting a chillian pilot to navigate in, and paying for visa’s.

If it was a rare group that has visited Antarctica, it’s an even rarer group now who have also visited Cape Horn.  Who knew that was the more exclusive port of call.

So now we have visited the most southern part of both South America and Africa.

Oh, and we saw our last penguin.  The rockhopper.

What am I going to do without a daily penguin sighting?
